Upon joining KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore, Dr. Yeo was pivotal in setting up the Paediatric Complex Motor Disorders and Movement Disorder Service, as well as the Paediatric Integrated Neuro-Rehabilitation Service. His work in clinical research and education is highly regarded, with numerous publications in reputable journals and contributions to national and international meetings. He has been awarded several research grants, including the MOH Singapore Health Service Development Programme (HSDP) award and the KKH Paediatric ACP Tan Cheng Lim Innovation Grant. Dr Yeo trained at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, Australia, and was the first Singaporean physician to obtain accreditation in the specialty of pain management, awarded by the Australian and New Zealand Faculty of Pain Medicine. He was also the first Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (USA) in Singapore, and is a registered acupuncturist. Dr. Chen’s medical journey began at Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in China, where she earned her MD. Early in her career, she worked as a junior surgeon specialising in breast cancer treatment. Inspired by Singapore’s renowned family medicine training programs, Dr. Chen relocated to Singapore and joined the SingHealth Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Michelle Phua is a Family Physician who graduated from Cardiff University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery.
She completed her housemanship in the United Kingdom before returning to Singapore to continue with her training in the government hospitals, rotating through various specialties such as General Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Surgery, A&E and Anesthesia.
Dr. Phua left for the private sector subsequently and spent some time in Aesthetics. She obtained certifications from the Aesthetic Dermatology Educational Group (ADEG) and was also conferred a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. However, she still felt that Medicine was where she could truly be herself. That led her to spend many subsequent years at a Polyclinic, an International Clinic and a local private GP clinic, gaining broad exposure to patients of all ages and various nationalities.
